Week Commencing 25 January 2026
Welcome to the week's Worship Weekly
Welcome to this week’s edition.
Sunday 25 January 09.30 Service @ Lympstone Church - Pulpit Swap
This Sunday sees a ‘Pulpit Swap’ at the later 09.30 service in Lympstone. A large number of clergy from the wider Exmouth area are all swapping amongst each others’ place of worship. Lympstone welcomes Pamela Howarth (Baptist minister and Hospital Chaplain) who will preach the sermon at the 09.30 service. John Philpott will lead the service. Come along and try something different.
Sunday 1 February 16.00 @ Lympstone Church – Christingle Service
Lympstone’s Christingle Service this year squeaks in just in time before Candlemass (2nd February). It’s a lovely service!
For the uninitiated…Christingle services are named after the Christingles that are lit during the ceremony, which are oranges wrapped in red tape or ribbon, sometimes decorated with dried fruit or sweets, with a lit candle on the top. During the service, each person takes a Christingle and the candles are all lit to create a warm, magical glow symbolising the light of Christ and bringing hope to people living in darkness.
Saturday 14 February 08.15 for 08.30 @ Toby Carvery opposite CTCRM – Men’s Breakfast
£10.50 in cash please, payable on arrival. Our Speaker will be Keith Moore: his talk is entitled 'A White Boy in Africa'. PLEASE do book and not just turn up! This is to confirm our numbers. And another 'please' - Collect your coffee/tea mug from the tray in ‘our’ room, not from anywhere else. Bob Soutter: 01395 273400 or rjsoutter@aol.com.

Led by Demelza Henderson, this morning of quiet prayer and reflection will be focused on the Seven Last Words of Jesus from the Cross. The morning will include worship, meditative readings and music, with plenty of time for your own silent prayers and/or creative prayer activities.

Sunday Service Prayers
If you would like prayers to be said for village residents during a Sunday service, please email PrayersLymCh@excc.church or fill out a card and put it in the ‘prayer requests box’ at the back of church. You must state at the top of the card that it is for reading out in Church and include your name so that the team can verify from where the request has come; the prayer group will treat the prayer requests in the box as confidential. If you have any questions, please speak to Chris Kleinstuber, who leads the Community Prayer hour each Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Lady Chapel.
